My collection of Pinky St dolls and my bad habit of buying and selling them
After almost a month, my Haruhi Suzumiya finally made it to my house.
I really love how they made her into a Pinky Street doll. With her uniform and the oh so naughty bunny suit, Baby Sue and Vance Project made it clear that their dolls aren’t for little girls only!

I’m doing my regular Pinky St spring cleaning, and instead of selling off parts individually over at the Pinky-Street.com Forums Marketplace, I decided to sell the part in lots on eBay:

With Asuka Langley (Evangelion Ver. 1, Kokoro head)
If you’re interested in any of these lots, head on to eBay now! The first auction ends April 17, 2008 at 08 09:52am PDT (April 18, 2008 at 12:52am GMT+0800), and the last one ends April 17, 2008 at 10:17am PDT (April 18, 2008 at 1:17am GMT+0800).

Pinky St. has joined the fray and like countless other figure companies are releasing its version of the characters of the popular manga and anime, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yƫutsu).
First to be released of the four characters is the series’ main character, Haruhi Suzumiya. Wearing her school uniform, complete with her yellow hair ribbons and thumbs up pose, and an extra body wearing a bunny suit and a pair of bunny ears, Haruhi is sure to be a hit with fans of the comics and the show.
Hobby Link Japan is selling Haruhi Suzumiya and taking pre-orders for the other Pinkies to be released in the coming months. Each Haruhi Suzumiya Pinkies costs 1,600 yen, sans shipping.

I have been feeling pretty crappy lately, and even written about it in three of my blogs. Before I can write anything depressing in this blog, eBay saved the day, or blog, rather.
I put up one of my rarer dolls up for auction on e-Bay: the PK001 Yoshiko Repaint. For some reason, this Series 1 repaint became one of the most sought after set among the regular Pinky St releases. I was lucky enough to find this doll over at Yahoo!Japan auctions. However, with most of the rare dolls, I put off opening them.

I’ve said over and over that I consider Pinkies as an investment. They provide me an outlet for retail therapy, while ensuring that I am buying something that I can resell for a good price later on. I buy when I have the money, and sell when I run out.
I never really expected Yoshiko would get such a high price. The most I expected from her was US$25. But $55? Oh my!

To the guy who tried to buy Yoshiko for Php 500 (US$ 12): Please do not insult my intelligence. You had the gall to tell me stop my auction, to meet up with you, to call you and to sell you my doll for Php 500. I know how much Pinky Street dolls are worth. They’re not just worth Php 500. Even the regular releases now are being sold for Php 550, and you’re expecting me to just hand over the Yoshiko Repaint for that price? And isn’t that kind of transaction going against e-Bay’s terms and conditions? Please. Venture out of eBay.ph and see how eBay really works.
Annoying buyers aside, I’m really happy about the outcome of this e-Bay auction. Now I have enough money to buy a new domain and a box of Moo cards!
